I’m working on reading Stephen E. Ambrose’s book Undaunted Courage: Meriwether Lewis, Thomas Jefferson, and the Opening of the American West. It has been an interesting read so far, and I can’t wait to learn about the journey. Sadly, I found this interactive map that shows Native American cessions to the U.S. Government over time and can’t help but feel like the expedition to the Pacific Ocean expedited the process.
